2014 Anniversary Trip

In September, 2014 Shirley and I celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary with an RV road trip to the Southeastern and Southern United States. We began by driving from our home state Virginia to our birth state Mississippi. While there, we partied with the Papizans and Shirley attended a reunion with high school girl friends. We also traveled to Baton Rouge, LA for a short visit with Shirley's brother and his family, the Howards.

From Crystal Springs, MS we drove to Memphis, TN. While in Memphis we visited Graceland, the home and burial site of Elvis Presley. We also took the opportunity to visit the large and interesting Memphis Zoo

We next drove from Memphis to Branson, Mo. This drive generated several exciting moments from getting momentarily lost on the back roads (thanks, GPS) to crossing an older, high-rise bridge that was so narrow it might as well been a one-lane bridge when pulling an RV! In Branson we attended the , the Titanic exhibition, did craft shopping, and for our anniversary we did a lake dinner cruise and the Red Hot and Blue dance show.

After Branson we headed back to Virginia and home. This drive was also filled with a couple of heart pounding moments; primarily dealing with the Mississippi and other river bridges. Seems like an RV trip always comes with some drama and excitment. We didn't take any pictures of them, but we did stay at some very nice camp sites in Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky. Overall it was a fun and exciting RV trip and we do plan on many more in the coming years.
